About Us
Our church was founded in 1982 by Pastors Bruce & Pat
Chamberlain. They served faithfully until their retirement in 1995. In that same year, Pastor George Magdalany
was appointed as senior pastor. Pastor George Magdalany
He and his wife Maria poured out their hearts into the ministry Hope Chapel Hawthorne. God brought a beautiful restoration in those days as people were introduced to the Christian faith, baptized, healed, and provided for. Marriages and families were restored, people on the verge of despair found hope, and the peace and power of God filled the atmosphere!
The Lord led us to start the Food & Hope Family Outreach, which until this day provides essential items and referrals to people in need. We also sponsor regular Community Outreach efforts that meet the needs of the precious people around us. We often go beyond our four walls to make a difference in our community.
The City of Hawthorne has embraced Hope Chapel as a key resource to the community and recognizes us as a pillar of the city. It is plain to see that God is not finished with our church, and desires to continue to use us in people’s lives.
Our purpose: To help people KNOW Christ, to GROW in their relationship with Him, and to be equipped to GO and help others to know Him also. Teaching FAITH in Christ, HOPE for the Future, and LOVE for God and People.
Our Calling to the people of Hawthorne and beyond: To be a strong, loving, free, diverse community of believers who shine the BRIGHT HOPE of Jesus Christ for this life and the life to come.

Our Leaders
Pastor George and Maria Magdalany
Pastor George and Maria have been shepherding Hope Chapel Hawthorne for over 30 years. Firmly planted in the community of Hawthorne, they strive to serve God's people. Pastor George is the head pastor at Hope Chapel Hawthorne, heading up the Men's Ministry as well while Maria leads the Women's Ministry and directs the Children's Sunday School.
Larry Watson
Larry heads up Church Administration. Helping to manage tasks that ensure Hope Chapel Hawthorne is using its resources to best serve the community.
Joshua Magdalany
Joshua assists in Church Administration and also manages Audio and Visual on Sunday Mornings along with Social Media like the Facebook Live Stream and YouTube uploads.
